History

Polyaura, Inc. is a private research lab founded in 2024 by Alex Sahinidis. Headquartered in San Francisco, the company explores new systems and invests in frontier technologies across artificial intelligence, human–computer interaction, and wearable computing. Polyaura’s mission is to “expand what one unit of time can do.” The name Polyaura simply signifies “a lot of time” in Greek. The company was officially incorporated on June 10, 2024, the Anniversary of Time. Its logo is the interrobang (‽), symbolizing the company’s philosophy of insight (?) + action (!).

Products and technologies

Enterprise research (2024)

Alex first prototyped an AI that aggregated and analyzed multimodal user research—surveys, interviews, and product analytics—to accelerate product design and decision-making for companies, believing that user-centric design was key to a sustainable future, not modern capitalism.

Personal AI assistant (2024–2025)

After realizing universal use cases outside of work, the company pivoted to a context- and memory-aware assistant, designed to offer recall, summarization, and lightweight task support rooted in privacy and personalization. The team grew to four.

Wearable AI for sport and play (2025– )

In August 2025, Alex returned to a solo founder model and pivoted the company away from a personal AI assistant to build a small, clip-on wearable for soccer players, capturing a first-person view that uses computer vision to turn footage into personalized performance insights.
